Market research firm eMarketer released a new important report estimating the size of the global market of mobile apps. It also provides a look at three main strategies app developers prefer to follow aiming to acquire and retain users. The strategies include post-install actions, ad targeting optimization, and messaging.
The report stresses that, although the segment of search advertising on the app stores is on the rise, researches show the remaining importance of the App Store optimization. According to eMarketer's findings, most mobile applications are downloaded organically and have more engaged users. An increasing number of companies drive installs from their best customers through their own digital properties such as website, email newsletters, and more; this trend is especially notable in the retail industry.
