Store Intelligence data from Sensor Tower, a mobile analytics company, show that in Q3 2019 consumers spent as much as $21.9 billion on mobile applications, in both Apple's App Store and Google Play.

This total marks an ongoing year-over-year growth, up 22.9% from Q3 2018 when mobile apps generated $17.9 billion in gross revenue — including premium apps, subscription fees, as well as in-app purchases.
